Saludar/ Greetings

¡Hola! Saludo informal

Buenos días. Saludo que se usa por la mañana hasta las 14:00.
(Greeting that is used in the morning until 14:00).
Buenas tardes. Saludo que se usa entre las 14:00 y las 20:00.
(Greeting that is used between 14:00 and 20:00).
Buenas noches Saludo que se usa después de las 20:00.
(Greeting that is used after 20:00).
¿Qué tal?
Manera informal de preguntar cómo está una persona.
(Informal way of asking how someone is doing.)

Dar tu nombre/  To say your name
Soy Carlos. I’m Carlos.

Yo soy Carlos. I am Carlos
(with some emphasis on I).
Me llamo Carlos. My name is Carlos (litt. = I’m called Carlos)

Yo me llamo Carlos. My name is Carlos (litt. = I’m called Carlos)

Preguntar el nombre de alguien/  To ask someone’s name
¿Y tú? And you? : informal speech
